Kabekona Lake Foundation
The purpose of the Kabekona Lake Foundation (KLF) is to protect and develop the watershed, shores, and environs of Kabekona Lake. The KLF raises funds through donations, gifts, and bequests. Donations received by the KLF are used to help keep Kabekona Lake free of aquatic invasive species (AIS) and protect its watershed through paying for additional AIS boat landing inspectors, I-LIDS after-hours boat inspection, aquatic vegetation surveys, septic rebates, and other programs. The KLF played a huge role in purchasing land in the Kabekona Lake Watershed that is now 75% protected. The KLF is able to do the important work of protecting the Kabekona Lake Watershed and striving to keep Kabekona Lake AIS-free because of the generous financial contributions of our donors.
Please consider donating to the KLF in the following ways:
Kabekona Granting Fund
Contributions made to this fund are immediately available for use. Examples, including but not limited to, are recurring expenses like watercraft inspector hours and other proactive AIS detection efforts. Additionally, monies in this fund would be immediately available to combat AIS in the event our lake becomes infected. Approximately 4.25% of the fund's value is made available annually while the remaining assets are retained to provide for growth over time.
