Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) threatens all Minnesota lakes and rivers including Kabekona. KLA has a significant AIS educational watercraft inspection program at the Kabekona landing for watercraft entering and leaving Kabekona. In addition all KLA members should educate themselves on the AIS threat and be responsible to inform their visitors of the AIS threat as well. All mud, plant, and animal material must be cleaned off the watercraft and all water must be drained before launching into Kabekona.  Further it is recommended that the watercraft be dried for five days before launch. Please review the Minnesota DNR website on invasive species for more information.

We want to keep Kabekona as beautiful as possible and are always worried about the impact that invasive species would have on Kabekona and other lakes.  There are laws that apply to invasive species,  Below are the basic laws but if you click on the DNR link below, you can get more information about invasive species.

YOU MUST PULL THE DRAIN PLUG IN ALL BOATS AND LIVEWELLS WHEN LEAVING A LAKE.

IF YOU CHOOSE TO KEEP YOUR MINNOWS, ALL WATER MUST BE DRAINED AS YOU LEAVE THE LAKE AND REPLACED WITH BOTTLE WATER OR TAP WATER.

PLEASE SEE THE WEBSITES BELOW FOR ADDITIONAL RULES AND LAWS.
